Pepper is one of the sweetests girls around!! See what her foster mom had to say about her below. Pepper is in good health with the exception of a little arthritis that she takes pain meds for. The pain meds run about $40 a month. Other than that she is healthy & has no medical issues. Someone loved her enough at some point in her life to spay her & she is up to date so ready for adoption. We are WAIVING her adoption fee for the right family. To meet Pepper fill out the adoption application at www.braginc.org under forms.

Here's what Pepper's foster mom had to say about her.

Pepper is doing great! She is a good, sweet companion.

Pepper very much likes to be with someone nearby. She sleeps or just hangs out much of the day and is pretty much never a pest. We allow her on the furniture, but she does not get up on it, even if invited.

She doesn't look for a lot in the way of entertainment -- is usually content to hang. She will play with a toy a little sometimes, but isn't really all that into them. I have been doing some basic training (sit, down, down-stay, leave it, come) with treats and she is good at that and enjoys it.

She really likes to be out on our deck or in the yard as well, and is happy to do that by herself. While outside she usually just hangs, maybe walks around a little, and is pretty chill.

We have been walking her twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening, for between 1/2 a mile and a mile.

Even though she has obvious arthritis, she loves (!) a walk and has a lot of energy for a walk even in the heat. If one of us puts on shoes or walks toward the door, she gets excited hoping for a walk. She is pretty good on leash but does pull sometimes, especially at first or if she sees a dog, person or especially a cat. I'm working with her on her walking manners and she has improved a bit.

Pepper sleeps in our room on a dog bed next to our bed. She is quiet all night and still quiet even when she wakes up before we do in the morning.

She does have some separation issues, understandably. She seems to get worried when we leave the house and pants and takes a while to settle down when we return. We haven't been leaving her alone much, and are working on helping her get more comfortable with us coming and going. She has never chewed or damaged anything when we are gone or hurt herself - she just cries some and is obviously worked up when we return.

I would emphasize NO CATS.

So - for someone with no other pets who wants a sweet companion that doesn't need a lot of entertainment, Pepper would be a great dog. It would be nice for Pepper if her forever person would walk her or have someone do that, but otherwise she asks for little. She may not need the walk but she does love it.
